The redcoats are coming

 Band Jacket: Ecru, thrifted; Dress: French Connection;
Belt: LOFT; Boots, tights: Target;
Bracelet: Ciner, Finder's Keepers (Lawrenceville), vintage.
Shop similar: Jacket, dress, boots, bracelet.

This outfit is a little more dressed up than usual for a Saturday afternoon, but I feel like experimentation comes easier on weekends. How have I never worn this combination before? I think it's a little Christmas-y, as if I'm a modernized character in the Nutcracker.

This ensemble literally stopped traffic and turned heads when I was on the way back from taking photos. I know what you're thinking. "Wow, that's ridiculously awesome, JoAnn!"  Just play along with me here.

It turns out the car that stopped turned out to be my lovely sister-in-law, who goes to the university and was on campus near these tracks. Rachel saw me walking down the street and thought, There's only one person I know who dresses like that ...

My dream of finally earning the title of "Family Eccentric" is almost complete.

    Red is definitely one of your colors. I love this jacket (one of my favorite remix items of yours) matched with this dress (another favorite). The photos are awesome. You look beautiful!
    If that's eccentric, I'll take eccentric any day!

  5. I agree with everyone else. This is a beautiful outfit. That color is wonderful on you and looks so striking against the white.
    The reference to the Nutcracker made me laugh because at second glance, you are totally right. But a chic nutcracker!

  16. I love this picture and your jacket is seriously amazing. I can't imagine finding something so fabulous EXCEPT at a thrift shop -- count on them for some unique and gorgeous finds!

    And I loved your previous post about Medieval Times and your cocktail ring. During my second year of grad school, my BF planned a big surprise for us. I was afraid it was going to be a proposal. Luckily, we just went to see a ballet in Philadelphia. Whew!
