When I put together my items for the 30 for 30 Challenge, I specifically picked some items that had previously been hard for me to style with different items. This dress was one of them -- I originally bought it for my wedding to wear in the time between the reception and the airport. I wanted to try to wear it in a casual way, so I went with a nautical theme for Day 7. I've never worn this dress as a skirt, but I like how it turned out!
How are you 30 for 30 Remixers doing? Have you done any combinations that you've been proud of, or tried ones that pushed you out of your comfort zone?

This outfit is really adorable. I've yet to venture into belting over an untucked shirt, but I love the way so many bloggers — yourself included — pull it off.
ReplyDeletelove it! nautical is always fun and dress-as-skirt is a fun way to wear items, i think. i have a feeling a lot of my dresses are going to be worn as either tops or skirts through this pregnancy... good reminder to use them that way!
ReplyDeleteI like this combo, really cute. Am such a sucker for stripes and red.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I am doing ok, I've hardly re-used anything the last 9 days apart from shoes and belts. I spent the wknd in France and it was so cold I wore the same jumper/cardi the whole time... with little creativity.
I'm enjoying the challenge and not bothered by the shopping ban but it does keep highlighting little areas where my closet is lacking, like skinny belts for example!
Wow! I never would've expected these pieces to work so beautifully together, but they do. 100% chic!
ReplyDeleteI love this sweater! I've done some combos I've loved and I'm planning a few more to feature this week!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable outfit Joann.....love your little sailor look:)

I'm pretty much in love with that skirt!
ReplyDeletethe skirt is awaesome!
ReplyDeletehi there, love this look on you.
ReplyDeleteI'm most proud of wearing my cardigan backwards in outfit n.5 (despite exorcist-like effects!). I also wore my dress as a skirt today and also one of my faves so far.
Bwahaha I love that you found it in your couch...was it yours before, or did it come with the couch?
ReplyDeleteI love the nautical look, and I wouldn't have thought to do a scarf around the neck with it like that, but I love it!
I've been pretty safe with my outfits only because in the morning I've been racing to get to work and I haven't had the chance to experiment too much. But I have ideas brewing in my head! I should try them on the night before...
Really cute outfit. I love the headband and white dress.
ReplyDeleteI love the combination of not just the colors, but the textures! Super outfit!

Oh, I really like how you nautical-ed up that dress! The lace really contrasts nicely with the breton stripe!

Honestly, I love this dress but I was really curious how you would rework it for 30 for 30. I LOVE it like this... it looks completely different!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, layering something over. I love the sweater. I kind of have a personal aversion to stripes but after seeing this outfit, I may have to try them again.
