In other news, I've decided I want to participate in Kendi's 30 for 30 Challenge this go-around, in which participants choose 30 items and remix them for 30 days. I haven't picked out all my pieces yet, but mine will probably be a dress-centric challenge (surprise, surprise) so a lot of the remixing will probably revolve around restyling a frock as a main piece. To get into that mindset, I thought I'd illustrate some remixing ideas from past outfits that include one surprisingly versatile Old Navy orange dress. I'm not sure if I'll include this dress in the challenge wardrobe, but the ideas will hopefully inspire me to be playful with my combinations.
So far, it's worked well under skirts...
Plays well with sweaters...
How else would you restyle this piece? Are you participating in 30 for 30? If so, what are you using?
YAY I'm so excited you're participating - I'm going to give it a shot, too! Thanks so much for the versatile dress advice, I have a red one just like yours that I may include in my 30 now..
ReplyDeleteWow that is a versatile dress!!
ReplyDeleteI was tempted to participate but the weather here is seriously so unpredictable I think I would have a hard time picking which pieces could work for a whole month! I'm hoping to get inpiration from everyone then maybe participate in a future challenge :)
Good luck with the 30 day challenge hunnie....you will do fabulous!!! I know how you feel about the weather....I was in between rain drops yesterday!! yikes!!!

ReplyDeleteHey - I'm a new follower - my Google Reader suggested your blog and I love it! I have a very similarly colored dress from Loft that I'm trying to think of ways to remix - this post definitely gave me some ideas.
ReplyDeleteI did the remix challenge this summer, but I think I'm going to sit this one out - I can't wait to follow the participants, though!
I'm participating too! I'm picking out my items today, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to choose all the wrong things. Can't wait to see your other picks, and see what comes of it!
ReplyDeletehow funny! I have that dress and I am wearing it in a post scheduled for tomorrow. I love all the ways you remixed it!
ReplyDeleteI love the second outfit the best! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this idea of layering a dress under a skirt and would never have thought of doing it, but your ideas look so great I think I will have to try it. I am doing the 30 for 30 for the first time so am excited about it.. just have to get more things than all the black I seem to have :(

I love these examples, it's totally motivating considering all I do is remix my wardrobe :)
ReplyDeleteI'm doing 30 for 30...and as long as I've got my shoes, I'll be OK.
ReplyDeleteVery cool that you're doing the 30 for 30!! I've definitely learned a lot seeing how other bloggers like you restyle dresses and layer things so creatively!! Its so awesome how many ways you've worn that dress! :)
