This 30 for 30 Challenge is coming at a perfect time, as Georgia's weather has dropped and I have metaphorically packed some of my floral dresses away (meaning they're just shut off in my mind). Which means some of the items you'll be seeing in my remixes are either items occasionally worn or never seen before on this blog. Okay, here we go:
8 Dresses:
Top row: Hannah Hardy (thrifted), J. Crew, Liz Claiborne (thrifted), Donna Ricco (thrifted). Bottom: Banana Republic, LOFT, French Connection,
Banana Republic.

Believe it or not, I didn't choose all dresses for this challenge (I know, I'm just as surprised). I went with a darker color palette, but I feel like these would be pretty versatile with some of the other items. The only new item here is the grey slate dress, which was one of my early Christmas presents from my friend Marilou.
6 Tops:
Top: Leslie Fay (thrifted), homemade gingham (thrifted), Jewel Queen (thrifted); Bottom: Arizona Jeans Co., Banana Republic (from Marilou); Grand Canyon store (borrowed from dad).

A few newbies here and a couple are ones I've found over the year but haven't been able to pull out. The Jewel Queen sequin top I've worn before, but I think it'll be the piece de resistance of the challenge.
4 Bottoms:
I'm hoping I'll utilize these more in my wardrobe and get me more comfortable with wearing separates. I'm iffy about the orange skirt, but I needed more Thanksgiving-y colors in there. I also reluctantly threw in a pair of jeans, but I wanted to be prepared for anything in this challenge.
7 Sweaters:
Top: Target, Ralph Lauren, Ecru (thrifted);
Bottom: Brittany (thrifted), Faded Glory, Merona, LOFT.

Lots of reds and neutrals here. What's new here is a tomato red band-style jacket that I thrifted a year or so ago and have never had the courage to wear...until now.
Easiest items to assemble, as I am not much of a shoe person. I feel like I've got the basic types down, though.
And finally, a clarification: I work ahead of schedule. Because of my rather punctual nature (hi, fellow Capricorns!) and the unpredictable weather here, I often take my photos a couple days ahead of when I post them. I do this because almost all my photos are taken outside, and I need a couple days of planning to know what to do and set up on a bad weather day. I like being prepared, what can I say? So this means that in real time, I'm already on Day Three of the challenge, but of course, I won't be posting until the challenge starts tomorrow.
Are you participating in the challenge? If so, what did you include? And don't forget to check out some of the other remixers -- all 330+ of them!
So glad you're joining in, can't wait to see what you come up with :)
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh I can't wait to see what you put together. Good luck!!!!
ReplyDeleteooo! You have a ton of amazing picks. I can't wait to see them put together in outfit form! I should have thought ahead to have a post ready to go for tomorrow... that's what I usually do, but I didn't so I'm assuming my first post wont come until Tuesday morning.
ReplyDeleteoh the possibilities! Love the cardigans especially :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm also a bit of planner, although not as much as you: today was my first day. It just helps to have a little bit of leeway instead of rushing to get everything down on the same day, huh? :-)
Awesome choices! I like your idea of taking pictures ahead of time, I'd like to do that! I just take mine before work and am kinda screwed if it sucks outside! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteGreat wardrobe picks! I can't wait to see what you have ready for us!
ReplyDeleteJust Better Together
Oh, I love the items you picked! It always seems like 30 items goes farther in other people's wardrobes than in mine. I look forward to seeing your remixes!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great mix! I like the potential for some nautical looks with your stripes and red. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteAH! This is so funnn. I seriously can't wait to see what you put together. I don't think I could do this... it would take a lot of well thought-out planning. Hmm, maybe an idea to ponder?
ReplyDeleteGood luck!

Love the red theme going on here- totally your color. How much fun that we're in this together?
ReplyDeleteIt is smart to be ahead so if you get sick and can't post for a day, you actually already have a post for that day. Good job. I'm finalizing my pics now.
ReplyDeleteI'm so not surprised that you have tons of saturated color and plenty of fun patterns to work with. I was bland. I didn't mean it! I just happened to choose more bland pieces. Lame, lame, lame! I'm excited to watch your remixing. :)
ReplyDeleteHere are my choices:

I'm VERY impressed with how many thrifted pieces you have! I'm still trying to learn how to shop thrift stores!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing everyone's 30 pieces. Good luck! :)
I made myself stay away from all dresses, too. I'm rather proud of us! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the being ahead part. I'm also on Day 3 technically, but won't start posting until Monday! - Katy
ReplyDeletePS I love that you picked out so many great dresses. I'm a little jealous the weather is more temperate where you are.
Wow... I don' t know if I could do this - I am one of those people who constantly overpack when they travel, too. But your picks look like the basis for some great combinations. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
poet
