Campus is so quiet on Sundays, so Jeremiah and I took a walk around when he had to make a stop at the library for some reading materials. I picked up some Jane Austen and Hitchcock-related books -- my late-night movie sessions have gotten me obsessed with these two artists.
It's so weird sometimes living back in my college town now that I've already graduated -- I'm so used to seeing these places through a student's eyes. I decided to play tourist and take some photos of my favorite areas. Being behind the camera can be so different than just being there. You're open to seeing courtyards as more than a place to walk through. You're forced to see an old building as more than the place that held your Latin class, but as a work of classic art itself.
I wore a favorite dress to idle around in during the day. After a year of owning it, I've decided to not hem up the length. Usually I do this because I'm petite, but I like this one the way it is. I've styled this dress similarly before, but I really love the blue/white pattern with red accents.
It's the beginning of the week, but I've got so much I need to accomplish on my to-do list. Happy Monday!
your pictures are so gorgeous! i love the second to last one of you in the arch! and i'm glad you decided not to hem up the dress length, because there is something so classy about this style and length on you. it's really, really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very pretty dress, and the length suits you well! Also, the lighting in your pictures is truly great (I think I may be repeating myself?)
ReplyDeleteCheers,

what lovely photos! it must be so odd to see it as someone other than a student... i can't imagine myself in three years time seeing this place as anything else!

Pretty pictures! I think that length looks really good on you!
ReplyDeletewow, what a beautiful campus! and i love that dress! so cute :)
ReplyDeleteI agree about walking on campus. While you there, you know it's pretty, but once you look at it as NOT a student, you realize it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the dress with red belt!
The second to last photo is my favorite! I love the print on this dress. You always have the best poses. You look so natural and oh gosh, you're so adorable!
ReplyDeleteISn't it fun, being in a college town, and not a student? I didn't go to school here, but love seeing campus as a "tourist" (we're at TX A&M - hubby is a professor) I think the just below the knee length is more classically elegant than above the knee, though I tend to hem mine above the knee too.
ReplyDeleteLove these photos!! I think the length of this dress is classic and VERY flattering on you.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the name of my blog is from a Hitchcock movie - I'm a super fan. :)
Beautiful shoes! I love the shots, very pretty :0) I'm so jealous of your hair. Wish I had dark thick hair!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is SO cute - I'm loving your dress!! Great pictures

My parents still live in my college town and it is always nice to go back home and see my town as a grad. I've heard wonderful things about your town, by the way.

I love the idea of treating a familiar place as a tourist!! Its so much fun! And the pictures are so awesome! I love the way that arch works like a frame! The picture with the tree is so cool too! And that dress is so cute, especially with the red belt! I hope you have a great week! And thank you so much for your comment today! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments on my holiday wishlist!
ReplyDeleteI think the length of this dress is just beautiful, as is. And I still love seeing how you can pair red, white, and blue without looking like you're going to a July 4th party!
What gorgeous photos!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this dress...it is really perfection!
