How I've worn the dress before: here.
I woke up expecting to take my outfit photos in the afternoon because of the wet, rainy morning predictions. So imagine my surprise when I woke up to a brilliant sunrise -- complete with fiery reds and pinks -- truly a rosy-fingered dawn to be marveled. So, feeling that inspiration, I tried to capture all of those colors and happily grabbed things in my closet that matched. I quickly headed out to my photo spot on the hiking trail.
When I got there, the sky was a completely different story. It was muggy, greyish-blue and I felt quite silly for even trying to do a sartorial interpretation of it.
Lesson learned: Dress for the weather, but don't try to dress like the sky. It will almost certainly change on you.
At least you captured the colors while you were inspired and before they disappeared! :) This cardigan is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteYou're adorable and these are great pictures, whether they turned out the way you'd expected or not. :)
ReplyDeleteyou can see the colours a little bit. either way, the photos look great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful setting! Love your Outfit. xx, Alice :)

I so relate to this post - I'm in Scotland, and the weather is so changeable: I've had so many times now when I've set out to take outfit photos only for the weather to change totally when I'm halfway there!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else, though, I think these photos turned out great, and the red skirt really pops against the sky and water. Looks like a lovely location whatever the weather :)
Love your bag....and love red on you!!

I agree with your other commenters - your cheerful red is a fantastic contrast to the sky. And I always love that cardi - it brings such great detailing to whatever outfit you pair it with.
ReplyDeletegirl, you look amazing in these colors and i love the way you styled the belt! :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are awesome, and the outfit is super cute! I love the dress and the belt is adorable! I hope you've had a great day! :)
ReplyDeleteYour photos are gorgeous, as always -- even if the outfit didn't quite emulate the sky as intended. This color combination of red, gold, and ivory is so classic -- it reminds me of "ladies who lunch" from bygone eras. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh how well I've learned that lesson, living in San Diego. Just found your blog and I love your posts!
ReplyDeleteI'm very impressed at your morning picture-taking. The sunrise sky (as well as you and your outfit) is beautiful!
