Happy Tuesday! I've started including links in my outfit roundups, so you can see how I've previously worn an item.
I borrowed this dress from my sister when I went home to visit. Since we're different heights, the very short length on me seemed to exaggerate the flaired silhouette. It seemed almost like a vintage little girl dress, and it definitely reminded me of something Sally Draper from "Mad Men" would have worn. Plaid? Yes. Short little-girl length? Yep, yep.
I took these photos at a nearby park. To balance the vintage feel of the dress, I paired it with some matching but modern heels. I ended up really loving this outfit -- the short length felt pretty daring, but I loved the vintage-y look to it.
What sartorial dares have you recently made?
Lovely outfit! I also like your idea of linking back to previously worn items - I should start doing the same, would you mind?
ReplyDeleteCheers,

Totally Sally. Especially with the shoes. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI also love the color and print on you. Fabulous dress!
I was definitely eying that dress at one point on ModCloth, but I love what you've done with it a lot more than anything I'd have tried!
ReplyDeleteOoh, the shape of the flared skirt is just adorable. And I really like what you've done with the layering on the top. You are a constant reminder of how different dresses can create such different, and wonderful, looks.
ReplyDeleteI belt ,belt and then I belt again my outfits. It seems like my wardrobe has expanded.
ReplyDeleteblack & blue.
ReplyDeletecheckered,
girly.
love it!
Glorious! And the layered ruffles are such fun.
ReplyDeletevery lovely. The blue/black plaid is great - that shade of blue is especially pretty on you!
ReplyDeleteMy biggest sartorial dare recently was purchasing a mustard yellow sweater that I fell head over heels for. It's a color I've never worn near my face, but if I add some bright lipstick and lots of blush, it doesn't totally wash me out. mustard yellow, here I come.
the blue plaid is great on you!
ReplyDeleteThat has to be my favorite outfit of yours! And I am so jealous that the weather is nice enough to wear that without tights or a cardi!! Love it, I think that royal blue is a good color for you!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great dress and you look fabulous in it. That blue is definitely one of your colors!

I actually thought this dress looked like an edgier version of the dress Betty Draper was wearing in the finale when she lies down on the stripped bed....
ReplyDeletei love the colours!

ReplyDeleteI am cold looking at this summer dress!

ReplyDeleteThat dress is really flirty and cute. And I love the shoes you paired with it. Absolutely unexpected and they work like a charm.
Leaving the House in THIS?!?!
This is super cute!! I love the tank with the dress too! That park is a great location. I think I'm saving my sartorial dares for next week. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the dress but, I'm a little jealous you're still wearing sandals. It's wayyyy too cold here for that...
