Hope you're enjoying the long holiday weekend. It's been an athletic-themed time in the Sidewalk Chalk household -- when Jeremiah and I haven't been hosting friends for UGA's kickoff to the season, the tv's been on for other college football games. I'm not much of a sports fan -- while I understand the rules of the game, I can't muster up the enthusiasm to keep up with it. Still, there's this amazing sense of camaraderie, socializing and good food that comes along with gathering around for a game, and that I can get excited about.
Anyways, Jeremiah had the weekend off, so Sunday we explored one of the older neighborhoods on our side of town. Some of the houses are older and dilapidated --- crumbling foundations, broken windows, rusty walls, etc. and I just wanted to get a bit closer to see some of them. We only got to snap a couple before my camera started to act a little wonky and we left. Oh well, I still like how the photos turned out -- a bit dark and haunting. The first two photos are in the front yard of one of the houses.
This is one of my favorite dresses. It was the dress I wore to my wedding -- well, it was the one I changed into after the reception, the one I wore when we said our goodbyes and got into the car to head to the airport. I've attempted to dress it down before --- see here, here, here -- and this was another one of those attempts. I need to keep bringing out the nice stuff in my closet and have them come out to play more often. I'm definitely going to wear this after Labor Day!
I can see why it's one of your favorites, it's gorgeous! Have a good labor day! :)

ReplyDeleteAlways love this dress and the different ways you find to wear it! Especially love the last photo...you find such wonderful locations for outfit shoots!
ReplyDeleteI love this dress every time you wear it. It's so unique, so feminine, and so fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy labor day to you, too!
Pretty details and texture on the dress, you look sweet and romantic J!
ReplyDeleteHave fun you guys!
This dress is amazing! And if you hadn't mentioned it as your reception dress I never would've thought of it as so formal, so I think you were very successful in dressing it down. Your hair looks fantastic in these photos, btw!
ReplyDeleteYou hair looks great in these photos.
ReplyDeleteI think you should totally sport this dress year round. It's beautiful. I Love all the detailing. :) I hope and the hubby's are enjoying the extra day off.. I'm not.. I'm in the office and hubby is at home resting. I made some mahimahi last night and he had a reaction and broke out in hives. :( Poor guy.
ReplyDeleteHope you're well JoAnn! Hugs.
xx Love & Aloha
Oh that dress is just beautiful. Really, really pretty. I love it. I'm glad you've gotten more use out of it since your wedding! I honestly don't even have a clue what happened to the outfit that I wore. Which was (horrifyingly) pants and a sleeveless top.
ReplyDeleteOn second thought, I'm kind of glad that I don't know what happened to those two pieces.
what a nice memory for this dress. I bet it makes you happy every time you put it on. For sure it should be worn more often!
