Shirt: Arizona Jeans Co., thrifted;
Shorts: Abercrombie & Fitch;
Scarf: thrifted;
Shoes: from Philippines, gift;
Bag: Fossil, thrifted.
I wore this around town while I poked around some local thrift stores. Didn't find too much I wanted to get, but it was ridiculously hot so I wasn't in much of a mood for shopping. I might save my big thrift trips for the stores near our old apartment, because I think there's more variety around there and it's cheaper.

I like how this outfit came together. Pattern mixing is so much fun for me when it's in red and blues. I'll probably wear this exact same outfit in the fall, but with my tall brown boots. I'm getting antsy for fall weather -- I'd like to be able to layer clothes again! I'm tired of sweating through everything and having to wash it all.
When I went to take these photos, the parking lot near this trail was overcrowded because the university's marching band and flagline were practicing on the intramural fields nearby. Hundreds of cars and people. So when I was snapping away on my secluded dock, I was treated to some cool band music. It reminded me of when I used to live at home, and our house was only a couple miles from my high school. On Friday nights during the football game, you could hear the drums from my backyard, like it was a secret symphony.
Hope you're having a great Saturday!
You look great JoAnn! I love how the red in the scarf compliments your shirt. You look like you're ready for an adventure! xo
ReplyDeleteThis is a great look. I think I'll need to copy it soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures! And I think your pattern mixing works so well.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I recently posted a giveaway on my blog for a giftcard and an Amazonite bracelet. Feel free to hop on over to http://thriftythreadsnyc.blogspot.com to check it out!
I love this! I wish it was cool enough here to wear cute scarves!
ReplyDeleteWe live in a university town, and the first two years we were here we lived 2 blocks from campus so enjoyed hearing the marching band practice at 6AM. So fun!
ReplyDeleteI love your pattern mixing! The scarf with the plaid is really really nice. I hear you about layering and the fall -- I feel like I have that more figured out (or there are at least more options) than in the heat. A few more weeks for both of us, I reckon. Have a good weekend.
Cool blog title! Great writing, as always!
ReplyDeletep.s. Sorry, I've been out of town for work but I'm sending you the e-mail soon as Fall is around the corner and I know you can't wait to layer away!
The scarf and paid button up are fantastic together...you look great! Well done!

ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful photoshoot. You really have such a way with capturing not just an outfit, but beautiful moments. You make this city gal jealous daily!
ReplyDeleteI loved the mixed prints. I need to learn how to do that. Every time I try I just end up thinking I looking ridiculous and opt for something more "matching."
