Afternoon in the park, or Dress #9

(Some park humor on a sign that I always find amusing)

Dress: Liz Roberts, thrifted;
Sweater: Target;
Belt: Fossil;
Tights: Anne Klein, Marshall's;
Shoes: Aerosoles.
How I've worn the dress before:  here, here.

Sorry I've been so MIA the last couple of days. Things got incredibly busy and I couldn't keep up with all of it.
About this outfit. This is Dress #9 for The Dress Project and I love it a lot. I thrifted it at the Salvation Army and it's such a lightweight dress in a tropical pattern. I think one day I'll hack off a couple inches because right now I think the length is a bit dowdy.

Here are the last few outfits from the Project:

Here my thoughts on the Project so far:
1) I wear a dress every day, but it's become incredibly difficult some days to take a photo of what I'm wearing. It becomes too late in the day, or we can't make it for an outdoor photo. Must. Work. On. This. It might be 45 dresses in 48 days or something to that effect. I'm trying.
2) My favorite outfit is the red dress in the second row. What a lovely day that was.

I'm really excited about today because it's Part 2 of the AMC Best Picture Showcase (you can read my synopsis of Part 1 here).  Are any of you doing it today? I'm really ridiculously excited to see "An Education," and hang out in the theater for about 13 hours. Food coma, here I come :)

Hope all of you lovelies have a wonderful Saturday, and  I will catch up on all my blog reading soon. I just wanted to say that I have the best readers ever and you make writing and this whole blogging experiment joyful.

signature1 by you.

  1. Your favorite outfit is mine too! I think we both share a love of printed dresses. Don't feel bad about how long it will take you to complete this project, I think its cool that you are attempting it to begin with. Hopefully spring will come soon so we can enjoy the beauty that is Georgia in the spring.

  5. so i read this post earlier before i started going through my closet to give things away and out of curiosity i counted the dresses hanging (i'm sure there are more in the laundry, unfortunately) and it was OUTRAGEOUS! i had no idea. i'm afraid to count the shoes. it would be just plain sickening. so props for making this a challenge instead of doubling over in pain and acting like a mad woman to throw things out/sell them. my goodness.

  7. Oh, I just cottoned on to what you are doing with the dresses! How fun.
    Makes me want to try it, but I'm not sure where I would wear my many "going out" dresses.
