Dress: Old Navy, spring 2008;
Sweater: Ann Taylor Loft, gift;
Brooch: Goodwill, $1;
Tights: Target;
Shoes: Minnetonka, gift.
How I've worn the dress before: here.
Just another day outside with Jeremiah, this time at a park that was really close to our house. They had a long, wooden walkway that extended over the water and several gazebos. I seem to take a lot of photos around lakes and gazebos -- maybe I'm just a big fan of "The Sound of Music." Jeremiah has a slight obsession with taking pictures of ducks anytime we're near a lake. He was all too happy that a couple of ducks decided to get into the frame in the first picture. Doesn't it look like I'm curtsying to them?
I wish the weather was warmer because I would wear this dress every single day. I bought it two years ago when ruffles were hitting the scene. It was so girly and so unlike anything else I owned that it felt like I was starting a new adventure with the way I thought about my clothes. I could break out of my sweatshirts and jeans and start over. And apparently the dress was just the gateway piece because as this outfit suggests, I may have a ruffle addiction. And the rest of the outfit includes the usual suspects --- ruffled sweater, tights and moccasins. I keep reverting back to them because they make me feel comfortable when I try out a dress I haven't worn in awhile.
Jeremiah asked me to set up this shot and it came out too funny that I had to include it:
Yep, that's my husband. He's a keeper and I love him.
I don't have too much else to say, except that tonight might be the night I get Jeremiah to finally watch "Meet Me in St. Louis." We have an antagonistic relationship when it comes to old movies and musicals. I try to get him to watch one, he's convinced that he will hate it. When he does watch it, he ends up liking the movie most of the time. It took me five years to get him to watch the last half of "Casablanca." Don't think I try to force my movie tastes on him -- I watch my fair share of sports and MMA fights, too. But I'm really excited because he may finally get introduced to Tootie and the "Trolley Song" tonight. Here's hoping!
