Listening to: "These Days," Nico.
Dress (as top): Anne Taylor Loft, remixed;
Skirt: Casper, thrifted;
Tights, boots, sweater: Target.
I think pairing a skirt over a dress is my ongoing obsession for fall when a hemline is too short or the dress is too body-conscious for work. I got a few compliments on the top today and I got to share my outfit secret.
We won trivia tonight because we're all mega geniuses. Ha. Actually the questions were easier than most nights, and we were good at guessing some of the big ones. (Sample question: "What movie did the song 'White Christmas' debut?" The Holiday Inn) We also have a new cool waiter who lets me order off the kid's meal even though I'm not 12 anymore, so hooray.
Because I've had this song in my head for most of the day, I leave you with this scene from the Royal Tenenbaums. Probably one of my fave character entrances ever. Enjoy!
Love that dress as a top, Jo! Last week, I wore a skirt as a dress and then a dress as a skirt. I felt very creative. :)

aw, yes! layering this way is brilliant--it makes your closet feel twice as big and helps repurpose too-short things.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great!
ReplyDeleteWorking with layers in the winter is always a good thing to do!

Its so sad to me that I have dresses in my closet that I just can wear to work. I've seen this idea of wearing your dress under a skirt - I might just have to try it! You make it look awesome!
ReplyDeleteps. I just came across your blog and I love the name!

I have never tried this before! Genius! you look so put together! I am going to have to give it a try! Thanks! I happen to love that part of the movie too. My husband was kissing my butt one time and told me it was how it looked when he first saw me! What a sucker I am for believing him!
ReplyDeleteAww you look adorable!
